Are you done crying? You are broken inside and you are still myopic due to your so many misplaced priorities. Why? No one wants to be in the shoe of the beggar at the Beautiful Gate, but then, so many persons wake up every morning without a plan. You are a law student, you are handsome, you are proud to flaunt your black suit; you walk around like a peacock believing your outfit should command respect. So what do you do? You chase every female with the catch phrase, ‘I am a law student’. Do you know that penniless lawyers are like salt? They are so innumerable. You bring truth to the society, but what you get as a reward is your whole butt in gaol. It is all bullshit how the society we live in embraces the lies like “Nigeria is the greatest Black Nation, so rich and united, and not on the verge of a technical recession”. You have been sent to school to study, should it not be thumbs up to your parents? But you chose to leave the whole world in shock as to how an enlightened student would share a cup with the cult gang. Are we still the leaders of tomorrow? Nigerians are the most religious; it should be qualified with “hypocritical”. Pitiful to see students profess Christ’s existence but at the same time, confess their love for money to the point of accepting bribes from political figures. Funny enough, this generation knows the truth, but have allowed themselves to be totally intoxicated with fleshy things.
These historians bore the life out of me, and in fact leave my face constricted. All they ever do is preach the rise and fall of Dunama Dibalemi, the whole crap of Sokoto Caliphate, and then tag it ENLIGHTENMENT. Then the students take history exams and all, but know not a dime about corruption. I await the times of history lessons like NIGERIA VS. CORRUPTION: THE CIVIL WAR; THE EMBRACE OF CORRUPTION: ITS RISE AND RIPPLE EFFECTS. I like to see corruption as that poisonous insect that has perched on the scrotum of man; you cannot afford to kill it without caution. Or could it be that corruption came from our mothers during the stage of breastfeeding us? I mean, are you not pricked?? The urge to embark on anything smelling corruption is not of abnormalcy, but to say that we cannot take charge of our body and actions make us more of a robot than God’s own creation.

As a student, I know what it takes to set goals. Well it is this easy – wake up, tell yourself you want to make a first class, abandon fun and read till it is time for vacation. It is even easier to set free the goals. Of course you set it free because you came not close to accomplishing it – How wrong a choice. What happened to checking why you did not get it right? Or you believe that you the man with the best strategy in the world, hence the best grades will never be yours since you lost it at first time? That you never taste victory or success at every endeavour is not because the Devil has sat upon your success in entirety, but it is because you fail to dream, you fail to set goals, and you are quick to give up. If Christiano Ronaldo towed the line losers have subscribed to, then he would not have kissed the Ballon D’or two more times.

You are a graduate from a top school, but turn a political thug for a low life. Excuse to and fro that you cannot deal with the strife. You grumble because your peers be driving High Lander but you do not have half the price. So all you do is serving at the feet of these nasty politicians to get cash, and then you hit your chest that you are wise. What happened to taking charge and start affecting our society? Of course, it is a misplaced priority as we the youths cannot have a night right without pinging or facebooking. We are more concerned with cartoons or entering sexual relationships, and the females getting pitifully fixated by the ceaseless reading of Mills and Boon.

An identified problem is the fact that the youths of this century have failed to know what they want to become, and why they want to hold THAT DREAM passionately. If a person does not know the effect of what he grips or possesses, then how can he boast to affect lives? Ever checked the history of great men and how they affected lives and the society at large? Maybe we should observe a succinct pause off the social media and surf the internet in search of enlightenment and inspiration from legends. The truth needs be told, we the youths lack inspiration, and so live lives like a flock awaiting a shepherd, without taking charge and frowning at the so many ills the society is being plagued with. We have been too busy with frivolities, is it not time to be in charge already, and act like the future leaders? I am ready to give hope to my country, Nigeria, but are you?
